KITM Receives Grant from the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Foundation

ST. LOUIS (February 8, 2021) –  Kids In The Middle (KITM) is proud to announce that the Agency has been awarded a grant of $5,000 from The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Foundation (AAMLF). The funds will help provide much-needed mental health services for children and their families transitioning to a new way of life before, during, and after separation and divorce.

“We are continuously grateful for the support that AAMLF provides KITM,” says Katy Walter, CEO of KITM. “This Foundation’s support has allowed us to help more children learn coping skills in a safe, confidential, and objective place.”

The AAMLF is the charitable organization that advances one of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers’ most important goals: to protect children and families. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide financial assistance to organizations, by way of grants, in order to help families, parents, and children adversely affected by the breakup of the family unit.

KITM will not turn families away because of an inability to pay for counseling services. The Agency uses a sliding scale fee process, and families pay what they can afford. Approximately 90 percent of the children and families that receive services at KITM receive some level of financial assistance. This is made possible through the generosity of organizations such as the AMML Foundation, United Way of Greater St. Louis, and the St. Louis County Children’s Service Fund.
