Our focus is on helping families function better within the context of separation or divorce for the ultimate benefit of the children involved. For that purpose, we offer services and programs developed for children and parents that address many aspects of the family experience.

Divorce is a choice made by families of all backgrounds. The effects of divorce can be equally painful and damaging regardless of family type. Kids In The Middle is designed and dedicated to helping all types of families. Our work continues to generate profound, positive effects for children and parents of many different backgrounds.

We utilize a unique group counseling model that we developed and have refined to great success over the last three decades. As a result, we’ve become one of our community’s go-to resources for separated and divorced families.

Our clients, regardless of their age, enjoy complete confidentiality with their individual counselors. We maintain the utmost objectivity while honoring our commitment of confidentiality in every case. We will not become an arbiter of anyone’s agenda — the courts or otherwise.
AFFORDABLE FOR EVERYONE
Because we’re focused on helping families of all types, we offer a sliding scale fee arrangement to ensure our services are reasonably within everyone’s reach.
History
Kids In The Middle opened its doors In 1977, providing group counseling for children whose parents were separated or divorced. Since that time, our services have expanded to include the whole family including parents. The agency has grown to 35 committed professionals with an unparalleled base of knowledge and relevand experience offering the most comprehensive, expert counseling for separated or divorced families. In addition to the counseling services provided at our Kirkwood and St. Charles locations, Kids In The Middle helps children and families in schools through our School Outreach Counseling Program.
